Stephan,

I've solved the problem - it was my error!

I had the reverb size at 100 and Room at 12%, This was causing the reverb to feedback on itself, but taking about 5 mins to build.

This is all due to my ignorance of the technology and I feel I owe you a big apology for causing any worry.

I am however still experiencing a problem with using the plug-in as an insert. Apart from once when it worked ok, I am getting no sound and I can't see anything obvious I'm doing wrong. This works ok in Logic 8.

No worries, and no apologies necessary - this is actually a very helpful observation. I will limit the reverb feedback in a future release so this cannot happen. This is most likely due to a precision problem that got introduced during an optimization (sometimes the net result of a chain of commutative operations, though mathematically identical, can be slightly different).

About the insert problem: are you sure this isn't because there are no keys selected on the built-in keyboard?

Again, thank you very much for your detailed reports!

Absolutely sure, because the first preset I try is Full Chords, which has notes. The sound shows in the graphic EQ display - bobbing up and down - but nothing is heard. In Logic 8 there is instantly sound. But so strange that it worked once, then suddenly not at all.

Yes, this is very strange indeed. Also, I cannot reproduce it here. No matter where I insert OV it works just fine in L7. I was able to reproduce the reverb problems that you mentioned, though. When I leave the reverb size at 100 it starts to distort after 5+ minutes. I don't get any explosions but a large amount of DC offset. I'll look into this today.

Thanks again

I got the 3.3.1 update but there doesn't seem to be any changes to the issues with Logic 7/Tiger. The insert is still dead and the sliders still won't work properly. Not sure if this update was supposed to fix these issues though..?

However, I am in the process of making the necessary arrangements to upgrade to Leopard (quite a big job for me..). I may just be the last man alive using Tiger!

I don't think so, Tiger is still very popular. (Un)fortunately, with OS X 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") now shipping support for Tiger will most likely be discontinued by many software manufacturers. 10.5 is the minimum system to support 64bit and I doubt that many developers will want to keep a separate project for 10.4 around just to stay compatible...
