Orange Vocoder AE sliders in Logic 7

Postby mitkroy » 28.08.2009 10:56

Sliders won't cover all the digits - ie they miss numbers out - 0,2,4,6,7 etc

Unfortunately typing in numbers doesn't appear to work in Logic7, either. In Logic 8 I get the little text icon and it works fine, but in 7 I can't seem to get a text icon to appear, and then when I press a number Logic changes screensets.

This is exactly what I am working on right now, as someone from our beta team has reported that the text field input appears to be broken on hosts that do not support Cocoa AudioUnits.

The slider range is a different problem - since the slider grooves are smaller than the actual range each pixel covers more than one value. There is currently no way around this (other than typing in the values) but we will implement an option to control-drag with finer control in one of the next versions.

We expect to release 3.3.1 on Monday (possibly earlier).

Thanks
+Stephan

Thanks Stephan.

This is the best sounding soft vocoder I've heard, so it will be very cool to have all the features working smoothly in Logic 7.

Thank you! So far v3.31 is looking good. I'll have the Prosoniq QA folks run their standard test matrix on it over the weekend and if nothing comes up we'll be ready to distribute it on Monday.

Have a great weekend,
+Stephan

Just a quick note that v3.31 is now available from the Prosoniq web site. This version has the following bug fixes and improvements:

Code: Select all
Version 3.3.1
-------------
* OrangeVocoder now loads its default preset when instantiated without an existing preset
* on Carbon-only hosts clicking the Cocoa window activates the underlying Carbon window as well
* on Carbon-only hosts using regular (ie. non-floating palette) windows for displaying the plug in user interface, key events are now handled correctly
* Fixed long-term stability issue with the reverb
* on Carbon-only hosts holding down the "control" key while opening the plug in editor now displays the user interface in a separate window.

Please note that some of these bug fixes apply to morph and the free NorthPole AU plug in as well, which have also been upgraded.

Best wishes
+Stephan
