NE series Model-/Sound-Sets for Neuron |
|||
The Neuron is probably the worlds #1 tool for creating "photorealistic" soundscapes and otherworldly special effects. Nothing sounds quite the same, and nothing offers similarily intuitive access to resynthesis parameters. We supply a range of specialized Model-/Sound-Sets, each tailored to suit the requirements of a specific content to be created. These Sets make full use of the Neuron's features and are thus only partially compatible to the VS, which at this point lacks some key features like playback of stick recordings and exhibits quite a bunch of bugs. You will still be able to make good use of these sets using the VS, but there are some differences you should be aware of; read this for a detailed overview of these differences. Currently, the NE series encompasses the following releases:

NE01: Twilight Dark soundscapes and otherworldly textures for soundtrack and music production, carefully sculpted using state-of-the-art tools. Wether you are looking for finished backdrops or raw material to create your own: Twilight delivers.

Soundtracks on current generation films and games, as well as certain electronic music styles, increasingly rely on SFX or atmospheres that serve as ambience and music at the same time. This helps create a more immersive environment, but designing textures complex enough to be perceived as "photorealistic" requires rather specific skills and is a time-consuming process. We've created tons of such sounds for you, and crammed them into 50 stereo Models, multisampled (unless single samples gave better results), and looped seamlessly where applicable. With the Neuron's resynthesis and morphing capabilities this translates into thousands of twisted backdrops and SFX at your fingertips. You also get 100 Sounds made with these Models, to be used as-is or as starting points for your own creations. This first demo tune was created entirely with Twilight sounds, using only very little external processing like EQ and volume fades to fit the elements together in the mix. |
||||
To create these sounds, we recorded lots of original material with high-end microphones and preamps, including an overtone-singer, marimba and violin glissandi, various animals and ambiances, and a couple of demons summoned exclusively for this release. We then processed that using just about every conceivable (re)synthesis technique, including granular, additive, RE, analog modular, digital modular, FM, FFT-You may not want to listen to this after dark when home alone. |

To make sure that our users can get the most out of Twilight we've written the probably most in-depth documentation ever for a Sound-Library product: a whopping 118 pages. We have documented all keyboard and controller mappings, added hints to what works well with which Blender mode, added keywords and descriptions to help find the right sound for the right scene etc. Basically, the Twilight documentation doubles as a guide to programming the Neuron and how to create immersive backdrops of the dark, ominous variety. |

Another example of textures created entirely with Twilight, again without any significant external processing. Surreal, somber.....dense and complex. |

We constantly reality-check our products while we produce them. Other manufacturers will provide you with many cool sounds that will blow you away "at first sight", yet quite often can't actually be *used* in a real-life production situation. Won't happen with a Surround SFX product.....we know exactly what "NOW" (tm) sounds like and that's exactly what you get. Play any of the fat new games out there and you'll know what we mean. According to a rumour, Sound Designer Denis Goekdag wouldn't start programming a sound without having played at least one or two levels of one of those FPS.... |
||||
Marketing blurb aside....Twilight's audio content took around three quarters of a year of experienced manpower to create, and we believe you can hear that. We believe that it ROCKS big-time. |

Twilight is available as DVD from our Webshop here. Please note that to use Twilight with your Neuron you will need a DVD optical drive, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter and an FTP-client software; obviously none of this is included with Twilight. |
